AINS5001: A Modern Approach to AI

AINS5001: Your workspace

You are in the right place if you are taking A Modern Approach to AI and your instructor asked you to use GitHub Classroom and Codespaces for exercises.

Instructor materials (full book narrative, lecture notes, solutions, IMS cartridges, grading keys) are not published on this site. Your instructor shares those through Castalia, the LMS, or other faculty channels.

Do this first

  1. Accept the GitHub Classroom assignment your instructor sent (you will get a private repo for each exercise or unit).
  2. Open that repo in GitHub Codespaces (or clone locally with the same .devcontainer if you prefer).
  3. Work in exercises/ — follow the README in your assignment repo; tests and autograding hooks are part of the template.

Lectures (public)

  • Jupyter Book slide index — slide-shaped pages with narration audio when available (same content order as the course; not a replacement for your instructor’s syllabus or grading).

Workspace template (long-lived)

Many cohorts use a personal fork of aima-codespace renamed to aima-<your-github-username> for ongoing practice alongside weekly Classroom assignments. Your instructor will say if that applies to you.
